I just realized I’ve never watched one of their exhibitions. I have a lot of affection for this team, even if there are other teams I’ve rooted for more, and this is utterly charming.

I’ve learned never to judge a figure skating dress by the front alone. Sometimes the prettiest front can have a trashy, tacky, or confusing back, BUT I think this is a very interesting somber look. From the front.

Collisions are so scary! But I have to say, it’s nice to see Alexander do his level best to make Yuko’s fall as soft as possible.

1. I love that Yuko has made a commitment to headbands and rarely wavers.
2. I love that they went with contrasting colors. The effect is really much lovelier than both of them wearing the same color.

Yuko Kavaguti and her partner Alexander Smirnov. I’m still surprised that they didn’t take the European title, though of course I understand Aliona and Robin huge momentum coming into the competition. BUT I just wanted to say that I love watching Yuko skate, she never looks like she’s anything less than completely overjoyed to be skating. It’s wonderful.
