That awkward moment...
…when you finally realize that something your coach has been telling you for weeks actually is right. And you don’t know whether to be happy or annoyed.

That disappointing moment...
where you get dressed for work and try to wear high heels even though ever since you started skating your feet have refused to be comfortable in anything other than flats.

Anonymous asked: I'm sure this sounds cliche, but I saw what you said about caring about what others think of your skating. Don't. Skate because you love it. There are people out there who will never have any single jumps or any spins, but they still skate. Keep it up, because skating's in your blood. It never leaves. I left skating while I was in college, and came back. Now, my skills have...

Anonymous asked: I understand that you may well have given up on going to freestyles - but I'll try to persuade you anyway. I'm a beginning skater. Everyone my age is doing doubles and I'm still working away at my toe loop. I've just learnt my first spin. Freestyles seemed so daunting, I felt looked down on and felt like I was interrupting people with more important practice to do than me. But...

Practice 2/12/201
Ughhhhhhhhhhh. I fell twice today and when you’re 5’11ish, the ice is a long way down. The heel of my left palm, my hip and knee are all angry at me. I only skated an hour because after the second one I just didn’t have it in my to rest, recoup, and get back on. Little things I worked on: I’m not sure I remembered to think of the small things today. Arm position maybe....
